Garage Sale Tips - A Buyers Perspective

Here are some great garage sale tips for the prospective buyer. A garage sale can be a goldmine for the savvy buyer. You can find some great deals at a garage sale. You may have heard the term 'One mans trash is another mans treasure', well never was there a truer saying in reference to a garage sale.

Garage sales can be like a treasure hunt. The savvy buyer will know what they are looking for. Understanding what is junk and what is valuable is essential to making good buys.

Here are some tips to help you be a savvy shopper:

- Arrive early so that you can have the chance of seeing the best selection of goods, but it is advisable not to arrive before the alloted start time as this may annoy the sellers.
- Look for tags on the bottoms of stuffed animals. It will depend on the brand and year the animal was made, but it may be worth more than the seller knows.

- Keep in mind the wants of others as you may just find the perfect item for a gift at a garage sale.

- If you are going to a garage sale to purchase furniture you will need to bring an appropriate vehicle to carry it away.

- If you are shopping for clothes remember to allow for the fact that it will probably have been washed several times and may have faded and/or shrunk and make allowances for this.

If you follow these simple garage sale tips you will find that your Garage Sale activities will be more enjoyable.

Garage Sale Tips

Hi there - You know, I have put together a few Garage Sales in my time and I figured that I could share my garage sale tips with everyone. These tips will hopefully help you to get the most out of your own garage sale. I thought that I would cover one tip per post, how does that sound?

Okay tip number one - If you don't have a lot of stuff to sell you could get your family, friends and neighbors to join in, you know, the more the merrier, hey. You could make a real day of it and make it a real jolly affair.

Getting together with others and combining your stuff will give your buyers more variety and will encourage them to stick around longer and in the process maybe spend more money.

Usually the main reason to organise a garage sale is to get rid of the clutter from around your house. So if you feel like you are drowning under a sea of clutter now might be a good time to think about having your own garage sale. Even if you have a lot of your own stuff it can still be fun to join forces with others to make it a bigger sale.

Don't have a garage - don't worry, you don't need one. Just have a yard sale instead. Same tips apply for both. Your garage sale buyers won't care, all they will care about is whether you have something they want at a bargain price. Remember, after all one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

Okay, thats tip one. Next post will continue our garage sale tips and have tip two - all about planning your garage sale.
